We empower pre-college students to share original research, exchange ideas, and engage in authentic academic discourse through a forum created by pre-college students, for pre-college students.
GYST-AI is dedicated to advancing learning and research among pre-college students by supporting academic conferences organized by students, for students. These forums provide young scholars with opportunities to present their work, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and build a vibrant, student-centered academic community before college. We cover a wide variety of science fields, such as biomedical sciences, artificial intelligence, medicine, technology, and related STEM disciplines.
GYST-AI was formed by our founding director, Chenlyvia Xiong (who herself is a high-school student), to address a critical gap in pre-college STEM education. Many high school students are already conducting serious and creative research well before entering college, yet they have few opportunities to experience the full academic process through which research is shared, evaluated, discussed, and disseminated. Traditional science fairs provide valuable opportunities for students to showcase their work, but they are fundamentally different from academic conferences organized by professional researchers, where participants submit papers, undergo rigorous peer review, present and discuss their findings, learn from one another, and publish their work in conference proceedings.
GYST-AI seeks to bridge this gap by creating authentic, student-centered academic conference experiences for pre-college students. More importantly, we aim not only to help students participate in conferences, but also to mentor and empower them to organize and lead them. Students can gain firsthand experience across the entire scholarly conference lifecycle, from developing a call for papers and coordinating a peer-review process to organizing conference programs, presenting and discussing research, learning from their peers, and publishing accepted work in conference proceedings. Through these experiences, we seek to cultivate a vibrant pre-college scholarly community in which young researchers learn with, from, and alongside one another.
A step beyond the science fair. Students submit original research papers, present them to an audience of peers, and take part in a program built the way academic conferences are built. Conferences are the first thing we run, and there will be more to come.
Every submission is evaluated by at least three independent reviewers on a Technical Program Committee, against the same criteria as used in professional venues: originality, technical merit, methodological rigor, and significance.
We foster pre-college students' interest in science and technology. There are no geographic restrictions on taking part, and no program of ours assumes a student arrives with a laboratory, a mentor, or a budget behind them.

The International NextGen Conference on AI in Biomedical Sciences
A forum created by and for high school students interested in AI, medicine, biology, and the future of science. Original research is submitted, peer-reviewed by a Technical Program Committee, and presented in person as an oral or poster session.
inCABS 2027 is the only conference running right now. The foundation will sponsor other activities beyond conferences in the future, including lectures, workshops, research opportunities, mentorship, and competitions.
